ART IS NEITHER A PROFESSION NOR A HOBBY.
ART IS A WAY OF BEING.

Jill Jack
Moon and the Morning After

"Roamin' "
"Full Circle"

This one took top honors in the acoustic/folk category at the 2006 Detroit Music Awards. Jill has
walked away with enough of these awards to need two mantels and already sold enough records
to be the model indy artist. We took a slightly different approach here and tinged her expressive
songs and voice with gospel singers, country pickers and rootsy R&B… all the stuff that makes
the term “folk” insufficient when it comes to Jill. It’s been gratifying to perform with her at festivals,
concerts and clubs all over Michigan. Full circle indeed

David Shelby
I Came to Play

"Love Truck"
"My Little Corner of Your World"

David’s a seasoned sideman stepping into the spotlight on this one. If you’ve seen him perform
you already know he’s a dynamic and commanding singer and songwriter. I wrote My Little Corner
for David. We’re now writing partners, friends and I’m a fan. Hot country music from Detroit? It’s
no secret anymore.

Stacia Petrie
Ruby Blues

"Face the Blues"
"Too Soon"

I’ve produced some other folk-oriented stuff on my friend Stacia. This Blues offering finds her
surrounded by guitar talent. Bobby Murray (Etta James), Roscoe and Motor City Josh shake
some serious strings here. Check out Josh on Face the Blues. Stacia’s writing and soulful singing
really came together on this one.

Billy Brandt
The Mission Band

"The Mission Band"
"Ring Your Bell"

This is Billy’s first effort as a solo artist. It’s about time! This stuff is the result of a remarkable
journey through American roots music. The man’s entire life is etched in these songs and every
mile he’s traveled is in that voice. Not many have it… Willy Nelson, Jimmy Dale Gilmore and Waylon
come to mind. Billy’s writing spans over a hundred years of music of the people, by the people,
and for the people.

The Twistin' Tarantulas

"Never Do It Again"
"It's True"

It was a pure pleasure to produce Pistol Pete and His Posse. He commits acts on his
upright bass still illegal in most states. What a blast!

Bright Black

"More Hole Than Donut"
"Bad Day"

Singer Todd Gilleland is an inspired talent, the kind usually confined to a psych ward.
"real instruments", samples, an edgy mix and twisted funk make these guys a lot of
fun to work with.

Higher

Semaphore Records (Netherlands) Hypnotic Bass Line, and enough trance-inducing
psychedelic touches to make alienation look like a lot of fun. The second track is a
stomp-down rocker with a Detroit twist.

Jason Magee
"Cutout Doll" "Wound"

I've worked with this guy for a long time and he still confounds and amazes. How can
stuff this literate spring from such a deep emotional place?

Stacia

"A Milestone a Minute" "Mother, Father"

Stacia is an extraordinary songsmith and a disarmingly pure vocalist, winning folk
competitions and garnering raves for some time now. These full-band treatments of her
songs were a pleasure to produce and play on. The spirit captured on these tracks is
undeniable.

Nailing Betty
"Dream Pretty Dreamer"
"I Believe I'm Coming Home"

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Mark Schmier is a triple-threat talent. These two tracks
of tasty modern rock are from a forthcoming full-length CD. Read'em and Weep!!

Riot In Progress

I've got an ongoing disfunctional relationship with these guys. High-stakes in your face groove-metal,
this band is a monster.

Tracy Leigh Bechard

"Don't Say You Didn't Know"
"I'll Settle for More"
Tracy approached this record from the country side, but the scope of her writing demanded a wider
range of styles. The first track here is a loving re-creation of a sixties AM radio pop ballad, complete
with strings, english horns, and those unbelievable harp glissandos. Track 2 is a straight up
roadhouse rocker. Tracys'emotional honesty ties it all together....she's amazing!

J.C. Morris

"On My Own"

This was A labor of love and admiration. Mr. Morris was the genuine article... blues royalty and an
amazing singer. J.C. you're still sorely missed.

Che'

Think Blue Oyster Cult with a lobotomy. Crash and burn recording is such an adrenaline rush,
and nobody was seriously injured.

Blue Metro

"I Still Love You Baby" "Strange Kinda Feelin"

Guitarist Barton Grimm and Keyboardist Jim Noel carry the Uptown Blues Torch...
and burn down everything in sight.

Opie's Dream

Old school analog grease and 'verb make this remeniscent of long-lost Guess Who
out-takes...Singer Mark Meisel delivers with conviction and heart.
